What we are doing

The Hub has been given £2.46m by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council to deliver a series of 18 innovative projects from 2003-6. This programme supports the development of outstanding museums for England's northwest.

We aim to fulfil the potential of the region's museums and galleries, exploring new approaches to development and disseminating good practice.

We have created 32 new posts across Hub venues and together we are focussing on increasing access to collections, education and learning, strengthening the working of our museums, developing the workforce and understanding our audiences.

We are running an ongoing programme of Best Practice Events exploring what we have been learning from Hub funded and other key regional initiatives. The presentations, discussion and findings from these events are written up below:
