Where do I find out about contracts?

LOCOG has just established a new service for businesses to register their interest in receiving regular updates on the Games. Accessed via www.london2012.com/business, this service contains a whole host of useful information ranging from procurement policy to tender opportunities, as well as a free service allowing businesses to register their interest in finding out about new Games opportunities. Companies who register their interest will receive an automatic update from London 2012 with key announcements and other key areas of progress.

For current tenders being advertised, please go to:- www.london2012.org/en/gettinginvolved/Business/Tender opportunities.htm

Tenders for contracts around construction or transport requirements of the Park will appear in the Official Journal of the European Union and trade journals.

What work is being undertaken in the region to help prepare businesses?

The NWDA is engaging with LOCOG and ODA to develop national initiatives to support UK businesses to benefit from the business opportunities created by the Games. This includes the development of a Business Opportunities Network (BON) which will provide information to businesses on procurement, supply chain opportunities and practical support on pitching for contracts.

NWDA is establishing a NW Business Forum, comprising of regional business organisations, to coordinate future activity. This forum will ensure future activities are both integrated into existing business support activities and are driven by the needs of the business community. NWDA recently held a Business Breakfast on July 27th 2006 as part of the national roadshow. It is envisaged that additional events will be held in the future.
