The Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) has published a national workforce development strategy for the sector. The strategy addresses the workforce development issues facing museums, libraries and archives, and identifies specific actions for MLA, regional agencies for museums, libraries archives, and the sector itself.
To inform future workforce development plans and programmes, MLA North West will undertake its own needs analysis for the North West region.
We are currently working in partnership with other agencies in the region to develop a programme of workforce development and training events for the North West. This includes our Rising Stars leadership development programme for new and emerging managers in the sector, which recently completed its fifth class.
