Could You Be a Curatorial Advisor? 02 August 2007 Many smaller museums need a Curatorial Advisor. Curatorial Advisers play a vital role in supporting and helping develop museums which do not have qualified and experience museum professional staff. Access to professional advice is a requirement for all museums applying for Accredited status, and this can be provided externally by a Curatorial Adviser appointed by the museum. And even if the museum is not considering applying for Accreditation, it can still benefit from the professional advice that a Curatorial Advisor can give.
New Chief Executive of MLA Council announced 18 July 2007
MLA Council has announced that Roy Clare, previously Director of National Museum at Greenwich, has been appointed as its new Chief Executive. He will take up his new role at the beginning of September.

David Lammy visits Preston with MLA North West 14 June 2007 David Lammy, Minister for Culture in the department of Culture, Media and Sport visits Preston today to launch the new Lancashire Conservation Studios. MLA North West are also accompanying the Minister to other cultural organisations including The Harris Museum and Art Gallery and The National Football Museum.
