It reflects a set of common values and defines the basic skills and knowledge needed by people working with children, young people and families. This session provides an introduction to the MLA interpretation of the six areas of expertise and knowledge.

By the end of the session, participants will:
have the ability to describe and demonstrate an understanding of the five key outcomes for children and young people
have improved knowledge of the Every Child Matters Common Core
gain knowledge of the MLA six areas of expertise completed during a Common Core self-assessment
This session is for museum and archive staff involved in work with children and young people. Preference will be given to those participating in the MLA North West Strategic Commissioning Learning Links teacher placement programme.
