MLA North West offers management training programme

There is still time to apply for MLA North West’s management training programme, Rising Stars, now in its 7th year. Rising Stars offers dynamic training for library, archive and museum staff who are in middle management roles, aspiring to senior management and leadership roles. 15 places are available, fully funded by MLA North West. The training runs from September 2007 until April 2008 and consists of 13 training days during this time including a 2 day residential. Appliction forms and more information can be downloaded here.


Course content includes;

  • Understanding people and leading Performance
  • Leading and Transforming Teams
  • Visioning and Leading for the Future (Strategy and Marketing, Finance, Performance Management and Evaluation, Project management)

Places are fully funded by ML:A North West, but support from applicants senior management and input from them is required, in addition to time from work to attend the course. Application packs and further information can be downloaded here. Applications for this year's Rising Stars must be submitted by 10 August 2007. Due to disruptions within the postal system we are willing to accept completed application until 5pm on Wednesday 15 August 2007
