Older learners

Older people are an important and growing audience for museums, libraries and archives. A significant proportion of the population nationally is made up of older people and this proportion is set to rise.

MLA North West has published an introductory guide for museums working with older people. This has been developed from the experience and evaluation of the Third Age Learning Initiative, a pilot project involving four museums in Cumbria. The guide offers an introduction for museums who are interested in developing their work with older people.
