Community archives

The growth of community archives has increased dramatically in recent years, as people seek to celebrate and record their past and that of their communities. The phrase ‘community archives’ is defined broadly, and relates to geographical, cultural and thematic communities of interest.

The Archives Task Force wants to encourage the growth of community archives projects. In support of this we are developing introductory information sheets on collections care for community archives, which will be available to download form this website.
